	Christmas Biscotti Frances (Aiello) Giamona Ingredients:       1/4 cup butter or margarine      1/2 cup sugar      1 1/2 t. baking powder      1 t. orange jest      1/2 cup chopped mixed candied fruit      1 1/2 cup flour      1 egg      1/2 t. anise seeds  Directions:       1. In a mixer, beat butter until soft.      2. Add 1/2 cup of flour and continue to mix.      3. Add sugar, egg, baking powder, and anise seeds and mix thoroughly.      4. Add fruit and orange jest and mix.      5. Shape into a loaf about 2 inches wide and 1 inch thick.      6. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until lightly brown.      7. Remove from oven and cool for about 1 hour.      8. Cut into 1/2 inch slices, place on a cookie sheet, and toast in 325 degree oven for 10-15 minutes.
