Giamona & Cartwright Families...


Marinara Sauce

Ingredients:

     2 onions, diced
     4 cloves garlic, minced
     1 green bell pepper, diced
     1 15-oz can of tomato sauce
     1 12-oz can of tomato paste
     1 15-oz can of diced tomatoes
     3 T olive oil
     1 T oregano
     1 T basil
     1 T thyme
     1 T sugar
     salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

     1.  Saute onions, garlic, and bell pepper in olive oil.  Cook until onions are translucent, but not brown.
     2.  Add spice and cook for 30-seconds to 1 minute.
     3.  Add tomato products and sugar.  Simmer cover in non-aluminum pot for 2-3 hours.  Check occasionally.  Add water if needed.
    4.  Serve over pasta.
