Italian Chocolate Spice Cookies

     4 cups flour
     4 T. shortening
     1 cup sugar
     1 cup raisins
     4 t. baking powder
     4 eggs
     1 lb. chocolate chips
     1 cup chopped walnuts
     1/2 t. ground cloves
     1/2 t. nutmeg
     1/2 t. cinnamon
     cocoa, or any chocolate drink mix


     1. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and spices together.
     2. Cut in shortening.
     3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and add vanilla.
     4. Add eggs to dry mixture and mix.
     5. Add enough milk to make a soft dough.
     6. Add enough cocoa or chocolate mix to turn the dough a light brown color.
     7. Add raisins, nuts, and chocolate chips and mix.
     8. Shape dough in small balls about an inch in diameter.
     9. Bake at 400 degrees.
    10. Cool cookies and frost with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk.
